Highland Gourmet Scones makes every effort to ensure the timely shipment of your order. Delivery, however, is up to the complete discretion of the shipping carrier (FedEx, UPS, USPS). Any events that happen once the package is in the hands of the shipping carrier are beyond our control. Because of this, the shipping estimates published on this website are estimates, and not guarantees of a shipping or arrival date. As of the publish date of this Shipping Policy, the shipping carriers have suspended any refunds for late deliveries. Highland Gourmet Scones also does not offer refunds for late deliveries, as final delivery is out of our control and up to the complete discretion of the shipping carrier.
If you are placing an order for a time-sensitive event, we strongly encourage you to place your order early and schedule it to arrive at least 1-2 days before your event. In some instances, such as weather events, high package volume (especially during holidays) or other uncontrollable events, we may have your product arrive earlier than requested to ensure that it arrives in good condition.
Highland Gourmet Scones is not responsible for delays in transit caused by high package volume, weather, mechanical error, strikes, natural disasters, terrorism safety control, local carrier mis-scans, inaccurate/incomplete shipping information, or any other events beyond our control. Leaving a package at an address is ultimately up to the complete discretion of the individual delivery person and is therefore entirely outside our control.
Highland Gourmet Scones by default does not require a signature for the delivery of our packages. Because of the perishable nature of our product, freshness could be put at risk should a recipient be unavailable to sign for their package. Should signature service be requested, Highland Gourmet Scones is not responsible for packages that require a signature but are not delivered because the recipient is unavailable to sign.
With the above in mind, Highland Gourmet Scones is not responsible for lost, misplaced, or stolen packages. If you require protection from lost, misplaced, or stolen packages, you must request signature service at delivery.
Addresses are assumed to be accurate as entered when the order is received. Customers are responsible for ensuring that all shipping information is correct before submitting an order as well as in their order confirmation email. If a carrier has to make a correction to an incorrect address, a $19 carrier-imposed address correction fee will be applied. Similarly, if the delivery address must be modified after an order has shipped, a $19 carrier-imposed address change processing fee will apply. Once an address modification is requested, carriers require one business day to process the change, which may delay the package. Highland Gourmet Scones is not responsible for delays in transit caused by address modification.
If a package is damaged in transit, photos documenting the damage must be provided if a refund is requested. Without photographic evidence, all requests for refunds will be denied. Requests for refunds due to damage must be submitted to Highland Gourmet Scones within 5 days of being delivered.
All packages are shipped via FedEx or UPS and therefore cannot be shipped to P.O. Box addresses.
